Description

  • Maintain internal information management systems and ensure accurate, efficient data collection, storage, processing, and quality control.
  • Supervise, support, and mentor data-collection staff and future IM/GIS Assistants.
  • Manage data in HALO’s GO-IMS, Gaza-specific systems, and relevant UNMAS platforms.
  • Establish data flows, quality assurance mechanisms, mobile data-collection forms, and digital transfer processes.
  • Design and maintain programme databases, datasets, Survey123 forms, web service layers, web maps, and Field Maps offline areas.
  • Produce live and static maps, infographics, visualisations, and GIS products using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Google Earth.
  • Write SQL queries and analyse internal, open-source, and other data on explosive ordnance presence and impact.
  • Maintain HALO’s prioritisation matrix to identify areas requiring mine action support.
  • Deliver training on physical and digital data-collection methods and represent HALO in sector information management working groups.
  • Coordinate regularly with UNMAS and HALO’s regional and global information management teams.

Requirements

  • Prior information management and GIS experience, preferably in the humanitarian or NGO sector.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Survey123 or Kobo/ODK, database management, SQL, Google Earth, Power Apps, and Microsoft Lists.
  • Professional working proficiency in both English and Arabic, minimum B2, written and spoken.
  • Native or fluent Arabic is preferred.
  • Humanitarian mine action knowledge and prior NGO experience are preferred.
  • Experience with GNSS/GPS fieldwork, a valid driving licence, and HEAT training are preferred.
  • Ability to work an eight-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotation in Gaza, with occasional flexibility required.
  • Ability to travel within the region for training; continued employment depends on access to Gaza.
