Description

  • Translate CAD designs into physical products by working with factory technicians to iterate and refine prototypes.
  • Lead feasibility reviews to ensure designs are structurally sound and suitable for international transit.
  • Manage the full sample approval cycle, including gold seal sample sign-off for photography and production.
  • Oversee product safety and quality checks, including mandatory safety and drop tests.
  • Act as the technical lead on the factory floor, identifying construction risks and enforcing Swoon specifications.
  • Partner with local QC teams to review development samples against CAD specifications.
  • Review QC reports and analyze bulk production defects against the approved gold seal sample.
  • Own product data collection and populate the Product Information Management (PIM) system with verified SKU information.
  • Maintain accurate development trackers and supplier grids, and align PIM/BCP data with production timelines.
  • Serve as the main contact for the UK PD team, providing weekly progress updates, risks, and roadblocks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in furniture development.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and critique CAD designs and suggest production-ready solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Sheets.
  • Highly disciplined with product data management and PIM system ownership.
  • Ability to communicate complex production issues clearly to UK teams and suppliers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving risks early.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with factory leadership and suppliers.
  • Frequent travel to suppliers across India, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ratangarh, is required.
  • Consultancy agreement engagement.
  • Preferred: experience working across design, manufacturing, and quality control workflows.
