Description

  • Own Android portfolio economics, including revenue, growth, risk-adjusted profit, and credit-risk performance.
  • Build and manage the annual business plan, strategic roadmap, and monthly portfolio forecasts.
  • Track portfolio performance metrics and drive corrective actions when results deviate from plan.
  • Lead and continuously improve Android credit strategy across new-to-bank, returning, top-up, consolidation, high-risk, and rejected-customer segments.
  • Set and apply commercial rules for PD cut-offs, pricing, offers, tenure, exposure limits, affordability, fraud overlays, and customer routing.
  • Develop and operationalize affordability models using bank statements, transaction behavior, SMS-derived estimates, declared income, and repayment history.
  • Design, run, and evaluate controlled experiments, including A/B, multivariate, and champion/challenger tests.
  • Translate strategy into decision-engine requirements, and own back-testing, validation, rollout, monitoring, and post-implementation review.
  • Lead a senior Android credit-strategy team and establish strong weekly and monthly operating rhythms.
  • Work cross-functionally with Decision Science, Product, Engineering, Finance, Collections, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Customer Service.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in consumer credit risk, credit strategy, or lending portfolio management.
  • Proven ownership of a material lending portfolio or product line, including revenue, GLB, risk, and profitability.
  • Experience building annual business plans, monthly forecasts, and corrective action plans.
  • Strong digital unsecured lending experience; Nigerian or broader African market experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of PD, LGD, EAD, vintages, roll rates, IFRS 9/ECL, pricing, offers, tenure, exposure, affordability, and NPV.
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort with Python or equivalent analytical tooling.
  • Experience translating credit strategy into decision-engine rules and controlled production changes.
  • Evidence of building senior teams, developing successors, and leading complex cross-functional delivery.
  • Strong executive communication skills and confidence to challenge decisions with evidence.
