Description

Review grey-box levels and define the artistic vision for environments.
Break environments into manageable work packages and estimate production effort.
Create detailed asset briefs with references, technical specs, modular requirements, and quality targets.
Plan, prioritize, and track environment deliverables with production teams.
Guide and review work from a distributed environment art team and provide feedback.
Oversee environment asset integration in Unity and ensure clean workflow compatibility.
Drive optimization for visual quality, performance, memory, and production efficiency.
Collaborate with designers, technical artists, and engineers to solve artistic and technical issues.
Identify opportunities to improve asset reuse, modularity, and production workflows.
Maintain documentation, pipelines, and best practices for consistent delivery.

Requirements

Significant professional experience as a Senior Environment Artist on shipped console or PC titles.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality environment art, composition, materials, and environmental storytelling.
Experience planning and delivering large-scale environment production from concept or grey-box to final implementation.
Experience creating detailed asset briefs and managing outsourced or distributed art production.
Strong understanding of modular environment construction and efficient asset reuse.
Strong working knowledge of Unity and its environment production workflows.
Strong understanding of optimization techniques including draw calls, batching, LODs, texture budgets, memory management, and performance profiling.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to estimate work accurately and manage competing priorities.
Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of environment delivery.
Experience working on sports, racing, or other large-scale outdoor environments (desirable).
Experience leading outsourced art production or working within an art outsourcing studio (desirable).
Familiarity with procedural environment workflows and world-building tools (desirable).
Experience developing modular kits and scalable environment pipelines (desirable).
Understanding of lighting, terrain, vegetation, and material workflows within Unity (desirable).
Experience mentoring junior and mid-level environment artists (desirable).
