Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, researching and resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Respond to cross-functional requests related to payroll accounting and reporting in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including U.S. federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience processing biweekly payroll and managing multi-entity payroll operations.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and ownership of deliverables.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and contribute from day one in a new environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Availability to work remotely while located in Eastern or Central time zones to align with team hours.
