Description

  • Own the design of the API and integrations areas end to end, including developer-facing surfaces, documentation experiences, and in-product connection flows.
  • Partner with product and research to define strategy as APIs, MCP, and AI assistants broaden the audience for these surfaces.
  • Design and prototype AI-native patterns for the ChatGPT app, Claude connector, and MCP integration.
  • Shape integration experiences for key tools such as Salesforce and HubSpot, including when to build, orchestrate, or hybridize solutions.
  • Prototype ideas quickly in code and turn concepts into production-grade React components.
  • Own work from problem framing through launch as the first Design Engineer at PandaDoc.
  • Contribute technical perspective to the design process by sharing patterns, pairing on prototypes, and helping designers build technical skills.
  • Work AI-first using Cursor and Claude Code to produce high-quality output.

Requirements

  • Strong experience across both design and front-end engineering, with a portfolio of shipped interfaces or widely used components.
  • Fluency in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
  • Comfort working close to API surfaces and developer tooling.
  • Genuine interest in developer experience and what makes an API feel well designed.
  • Curiosity about how developer and power-user experiences are changing as MCP and AI assistants lower the barrier to entry.
  • Active, opinionated daily use of Cursor and Claude Code, with a clear approach to getting production-quality output.
  • Comfort building from zero and setting direction when there is no template to follow.
  • Judgment to partner with product on where the market is heading.
  • Experience shipping React components with attention to layout, interaction, accessibility, and performance.
  • Excitement to work close to product, AI, and real users; experience with the internal AI-enabled design system, Figma, and Copilot is helpful.
