Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, well-documented code for web applications.
  • Develop automated tests to validate code correctness.
  • Deploy and support large-scale web applications.
  • Own code end-to-end from development through deployment and operations, including on-call support.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering on feature delivery and user experience improvements.
  • Work independently and as part of a fast-moving team to deliver iterative improvements.
  • Improve accessibility, performance, and SEO for high-traffic web experiences.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into real-time classroom and learning experiences.
  • Participate in a complete CI/CD software lifecycle within a services-oriented architecture.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies as needed.
  • Experience developing websites visited by thousands of users daily.
  • Experience improving SEO performance.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, Vercel, or similar.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Understanding and support of Nerdy’s apolitical company stance.
