Description

  • Take ML or LLM proof-of-concepts to production with enterprise-grade reliability and cost characteristics.
  • Design and harden data and training pipelines for enterprise ML systems.
  • Build and operate ML platform and MLOps workflows, including deployment, versioning, monitoring, evaluation, and CI/CD.
  • Develop LLM and RAG systems with attention to retrieval quality, evaluation, and cost control.
  • Fill specific technical gaps within client engineering teams for defined periods.
  • Conduct short technical audits and advisory work on existing ML stacks.
  • Work as part of a Janea team on client projects in a client-facing capacity.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into technical plans and execution approaches.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years shipping ML systems into production.
  • Strong production-level Python experience.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following: LLM and agent systems, ML platform and MLOps, or ML data and pipeline engineering, with working competence in the other two.
  • Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and the surrounding production stack.
  • Experience using containers and Kubernetes in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Kubeflow, Argo, Dagster, or Prefect.
  • Experience applying testing, benchmarking, CI/CD, and monitoring practices to ML systems.
  • Ability to work independently and turn ambiguous business problems into technical plans without close supervision.
  • Client-facing English communication skills and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-ML stakeholders.
  • Own equipment and a legal entity for invoicing.
  • Useful experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
  • Useful experience with production RAG systems and cost-conscious evaluation.
  • Useful background in NLP.
  • Useful observability experience with Datadog, Langfuse, or Weights & Biases.
  • Useful cloud certification of any kind.
  • For lead-level engagements, experience leading a small team or owning an ML workstream end to end, including client relationship management.
  • Open-source contributions, publications, or technical writing are a plus.
