Description

  • Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and connect it to business-impacting projects.
  • Serve as the lead software engineer for all cards in the EU.
  • Own architecture across cards and coordinate with EU counterparts.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Ensure technical sustainability by identifying and managing risks and trade-offs.
  • Act as a force multiplier through technical solutions and operational process improvements.
  • Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
  • Set and advocate for code review and design standards within and beyond the team.
  • Develop team talent by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
  • Work across real-time transaction processing, ledgering, and reconciliation systems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Proficiency with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience developing front-end applications.
  • Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through technical and execution plans.
  • Ability to write high-quality code that is understandable and reusable by others.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity across implementation details and large-system architecture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Demonstrated growth and impact through feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
