Description

  • Translate and subtitle TV and movie content from English into Basque, Galician, or Catalan.
  • Support audiovisual localization work for film, TV, streaming, and game-related entertainment content.
  • Perform localization quality-related work with attention to subtitle and dub text nuances.
  • Apply cultural adaptation best practices to subtitle and dub audio creation.
  • Use subtitle editing software and web/cloud tools to complete freelance assignments.
  • Adapt quickly to workflow and process changes across projects.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail while managing multiple tasks.

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in the target language: Basque, Galician, or Catalan.
  • Extensive knowledge of English.
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience in translation.
  • Experience in at least one entertainment localization area, such as localization QC, audiovisual translation, or subtitling.
  • Deep understanding of subtitle and dub translation nuances.
  • Working knowledge of cultural differences and best practices for subtitles and dub audio creation.
  • Understanding of closed captioning, including common failures and technical challenges.
  • Confidence using subtitle editing software and web/cloud technology.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to workflow and process updates.
  • An English CV is required; non-English CVs will not be considered.
  • Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before the recruitment process begins.
