Description

  • Lead project discovery by conducting stakeholder interviews and synthesizing research into actionable design direction.
  • Assess qualitative and quantitative data to generate recommendations that balance user and business goals.
  • Conduct UX, content, and design audits and communicate findings to internal and client teams.
  • Plan and develop information architecture, navigation, sitemap strategy, tone, voice, and content taxonomies.
  • Create wireframes, page templates, interactive prototypes, full-fidelity visual comps, and responsive design systems.
  • Present design rationale clearly to clients and internal teams to support confident decision-making.
  • Serve as a senior creative voice in pre-sales conversations and discovery meetings with prospective clients.
  • Contribute design and strategy input to proposals, estimates, scopes, and project approaches.
  • Support marketing and thought leadership efforts through webinars, blog posts, case studies, and other educational content.

Requirements

  • Senior-level, hands-on UX/UI design experience for complex, content-rich websites.
  • A strong portfolio showing the process from discovery and strategy through high-fidelity visual design.
  • Strong visual design craft, including layout, typography, hierarchy, brand application, responsive design, and accessible UI patterns.
  • Advanced Figma skills, including prototyping, design systems, component workflows, and client-ready presentation files.
  • Advanced knowledge of UX strategy, content strategy, information architecture, and content experience principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in a creative agency environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor complex ideas for designers, developers, and clients.
  • A collaborative approach to solving complex creative and strategic challenges.
  • Coding experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and/or Drupal is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education, mission-driven, or healthcare sectors is preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and reside in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, or the Northwest Territories.
  • Must be available for regular collaboration during Pacific Time business hours.
  • This is an independent contractor engagement with project-based work and variable hours.
