Description

  • Recruit, motivate, lead, and manage highly technical engineering teams delivering online security and machine learning products at scale.
  • Act as a liaison between product, engineering, customers, and sales to translate business needs into product and technology solutions.
  • Maintain high assurance, software quality, security, and service availability standards while preserving development velocity.
  • Define, drive, and govern automation and instrumentation to improve observability and automate break-fix work.
  • Partner with sales and product teams to model go-to-market strategies for new offerings.
  • Oversee architecture and improve client acquisition and delivery capabilities.
  • Implement effective hiring and onboarding strategies.
  • Collaborate across teams to ship customer-needed functionality with strong engineering standards.
  • Gather requirements, solve problems, and make architecture decisions based on needs, timelines, and available resources.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience leading engineering teams of 20-60 people.
  • Strong background in security products and machine learning.
  • Domain expertise in one or more of distributed systems, online security, and machine learning.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, NodeJS, and Go or Rust.
  • Experience with high availability and high security development processes.
  • Experience and demonstrated success with DevOps and systems integration.
  • Experience with lightweight development practices and meeting strong SLAs.
  • Experience with test-driven design in large-scale internet-facing systems.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems design on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, including queue-first architectures and sharding.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecture and business/product need mapping.
  • Pre-employment screening, including third-party verification of work history, education, and identity, plus a final in-person interview and identity verification in the country of residence.
