Description

  • Engage with pet owners through the EMR messaging system to provide support, education, and guidance.
  • Manage EMR tasks including refill approvals, prescription requests, async case reviews, and renewals.
  • Verify and process prescriptions by coordinating with partner pharmacies and following up on client requests.
  • Resolve pharmacy holds by completing approvals and communicating with doctors and clients as needed.
  • Support doctor coverage by monitoring shared veterinary admin communications and assisting daily.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Participate in training, compliance efforts, telehealth initiatives, and team development.
  • Deliver empathetic, high-quality client care while following clinical protocols and adapting to each case.
  • Work in a fast-paced remote environment and continue learning to expand responsibilities over time.

Requirements

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician certification (LVT, CVT, or RVT).
  • 2–3+ years of clinical experience in small animal veterinary medicine.
  • Emergency or specialty veterinary experience is a plus.
  • Comfort using telehealth platforms, EMRs, chat systems, and multiple computer programs.
  • Strong communication skills for client education and collaboration with doctors and teammates.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and remain proactive with minimal supervision.
  • Empathetic, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Professional home workspace with reliable internet: >100mb_down, >100mb_up, and <10ms latency.
  • Availability during daytime PST hours, including evenings and weekends; preference for Sunday through Thursday.
  • This is a 1099 contractor role with potential to transition to W2 based on performance.
