Description

  • Lead and architect Java-based software solutions that integrate with SAP Ariba and backend enrichment/risk data services.
  • Own the technical roadmap for the Ariba integration, including platform configuration and connector-side engineering.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a small engineering team maintaining and enhancing the application.
  • Lead architectural planning and make decisions on programming patterns, system design, and infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Ariba platform questions and complex troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define workstreams, technical strategy, and roadmap.
  • Define and enforce programming and configuration best practices through code reviews and standards.
  • Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience working in production applications written in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with SAP Ariba, including Developer Portal, OAuth flows, API key/token management, Supplier Data API, CIG, and SIM/SLP configuration.
  • Experience with Ariba approval workflows, custom fields, risk module setup, and common failure modes.
  • Experience building and maintaining backend integrations using event-driven architectures, orchestration such as Step Functions, and NoSQL data stores such as DynamoDB on AWS.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, Cloud for Credit, BTP, CAP, and SAP UI5.
  • Strong knowledge of performance optimization and security best practices, especially for third-party API authentication and credential management.
  • Experience with credit or financial systems is a large plus.
  • Experience working with Cloud Foundry is a plus.
  • Ability to overlap at least 4 hours with Eastern US time zone hours; EST preference for the client.
