Description

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Plan and oversee large technical projects involving multiple engineering teams.
  • Coordinate tasks and assignments across complex cross-team initiatives.
  • Set technical direction, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and develop junior, intermediate, and senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Identify technical risks and team-specific issues, then drive resolution strategies.
  • Evaluate technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead prototyping and research initiatives for future platform improvements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience designing and scaling APIs, distributed systems, and web applications.
  • Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
  • Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Expert-level software development, debugging, testing, analytical, and security-model knowledge.
  • 2+ years of experience planning and executing cross-team technical projects.
  • Strong written and spoken English; interviews are conducted in English.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Russian or Ukrainian.
  • Experience with microservices, service-oriented architectures, and third-party integrations preferred.
  • Leadership, mentoring, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and generative AI experience preferred.
