Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, researching and resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to process documentation and improvements to support long-term scale and operational efficiency.
  • Respond to cross-functional requests promptly and communicate payroll information clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting with exposure to both payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll accruals.
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a new environment with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Meticulous attention to accuracy and ownership of detailed work.
  • Clear and professional communication skills for responding to cross-functional requests.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Available for a temporary/contract engagement and located in (or able to work) Eastern or Central U.S. time zones (remote role).

  • Hourly pay range of $35 - $40 per hour, commensurate with experience and performance (compensation may vary by location).
