Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, researching and resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full statutory compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and other internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Deliver payroll reporting deliverables and support multi-entity payroll operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to respond to requests and ensure payroll is paid accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple legal entities or multi-entity payroll operations.
  • Ability to research and resolve reconciliation variances within 30 days.
  • High attention to detail and ownership for accuracy.
  • Clear, professional communicator who can respond to cross-functional requests quickly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Able to ramp up quickly and contribute from day one in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available for a temporary/contract role and located in (or able to align with) Eastern or Central Time zones.
