Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, researching and resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accrual and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full statutory compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and other internal audit initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant payroll accounting experience, with exposure to both payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements.
  • Experience processing Canadian payroll and familiarity with Canadian statutory requirements (strong plus).
  • Ability to prepare payroll journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll accruals with high accuracy.
  • Comfortable hitting the ground running with minimal ramp-up time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to respond to cross-functional requests professionally and promptly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Availability to work remotely within Eastern or Central time zones to align with team hours.

  • $35–$40 per hour, commensurate with experience and performance; compensation may vary by geographic location.
  • Remote position (work-from-home) with preference for candidates in Eastern or Central time zones.
