Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine (or similar), researching and resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and statutory compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to payroll-related reporting deliverables and help build processes/documentation for scalability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant payroll accounting experience with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time and take ownership of accuracy and details.
  • Clear communicator who can respond to cross-functional requests quickly and professionally.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Availability to work remotely aligned with Eastern or Central time zones.
  • Comfort working in a temporary/contract capacity and supporting a high-impact team during a critical period.
