Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, researching and resolving variances within 30 days.
  • Reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions accurately.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and statutory compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Deliver key reporting deliverables and respond to cross-functional requests professionally and promptly.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant payroll accounting experience with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements.
  • Canadian payroll experience (processing for multiple legal entities and statutory compliance) is a strong plus.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and contribute from day one with minimal supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ownership of accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Availability to work remotely within Eastern or Central time zones for team alignment; this is a temporary/contract role.
