Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine and research and resolve variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the general ledger accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Respond to cross-functional requests and communicate payroll-related information quickly and professionally.
  • Contribute to payroll processes and documentation to support long-term scalability and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting, with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time and take ownership of details.
  • Meticulous attention to accuracy and strong problem-solving skills for reconciling variances.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for responding to cross-functional requests.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Available to work remotely while located in Eastern or Central time zones to align with team hours.
  • Willingness to work on a temporary/contract basis during a critical period.

  • Hourly pay range of $35–$40 per hour, commensurate with experience and performance (may vary by location).
