Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine and research and resolve variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Respond to cross-functional requests and communicate payroll matters clearly and professionally.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting with exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time and take ownership of detailed work.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail in reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Available to work remotely within Eastern or Central U.S. time zones for alignment with the team.
  • Willingness to work on a temporary/contract basis during a critical period.
