Description

  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and record them in NetSuite.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine and research/resolve variances within 30 days.
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accruals and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team.
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full statutory compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit initiatives as needed.
  • Respond to cross-functional requests related to payroll accounting and reporting in a timely, professional manner.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant payroll accounting experience, including exposure to payroll operations and general ledger accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including U.S. federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple legal entities and handling biweekly payroll cycles.
  • Proven ability to complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances within specified timelines.
  • Meticulous attention to accuracy and ownership of detail-oriented tasks.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly in a new environment and contribute from day one; remote candidates should be located in Eastern or Central time zones.
