Description

  • Convert 3D models and design intent into fully dimensioned 2D shop drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Produce fabrication drawings for sheet metal, welded assemblies, cast parts, and wood components.
  • Prepare complete client submittal packages with BOMs, finish specifications, notes, dimensions, and revision clouds.
  • Apply established drawing standards for layers, annotation styles, tolerances, and title blocks.
  • Work with STEP/IGES exports, DXF files, PDF markups, and SolidWorks Pack and Go archives.
  • Identify and flag fabrication and manufacturability issues before release.
  • Maintain accurate file naming, drawing revisions, and version control.
  • Communicate asynchronously with the design team to resolve technical questions.
  • Deliver accurate drawings within short production timelines.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience producing fabrication, shop, or manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for 2D detailing, dimensions, layers, title blocks, and viewports.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor for working with 3D source models.
  • Ability to interpret 3D models, STEP/IGES files, and PDFs into accurate 2D production drawings.
  • Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication, including bend allowances, K-factors, and flat patterns.
  • Knowledge of AWS weld symbols and weld-joint detailing.
  • Experience with GD&T and tolerancing for fabricated metal components.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining BOMs and drawing revisions.
  • Professional English communication skills.
  • Reliable internet connection and a secure workstation for confidential client files.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360 (nice to have).
  • SolidWorks Pack and Go experience (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of Trumpf laser cutting or press brake processes (nice to have).
  • Experience creating drawings for cast iron or aluminum components (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of powder-coat and surface-finish callouts (nice to have).
  • Experience with architectural site furnishings, street furniture, or similar products (nice to have).
  • Experience preparing submittal packages for construction or public-works projects (nice to have).
