Description

  • Research and draft an initial plan for developing the TSC library.
  • Produce a written report on the best options for initial library development.
  • Evaluate long-term virtual library access options.
  • Recommend best practices for cataloging, storing, and providing access to hard copy materials within the existing library space.
  • Propose a plan for cataloging online Arctic materials for annotated bibliographies and research products.
  • Support research and analysis needs for Arctic practitioners, operators, and leaders.
  • Develop guidance for both virtual and physical research repository setup.

Requirements

  • Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) required.
  • Experience as a librarian or archivist.
  • Proven track record establishing both physical and virtual research repositories.
  • Specialized expertise in cataloging and space optimization.
  • Experience managing Integrated Library Systems (ILS) and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) networks.
  • Research experience in the Arctic domain.
  • Ability to navigate and synthesize complex scientific, academic, and government resources.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver a publication-grade strategic report within tight timelines.
