Description

  • Listen to Cantonese audio recordings and transcribe content with a high level of accuracy.
  • Add accurate timestamps to transcriptions to ensure alignment with the audio.
  • Tag recordings with emotions, context, dialect, and other relevant metadata to enrich project outputs.
  • Ensure transcriptions reflect cultural relevance, intended tone, and meaning.
  • Collaborate with the project team to maintain consistency and quality across all transcriptions.
  • Adhere to specific transcription guidelines, formatting requirements, and project deadlines.
  • Use transcription tools/software to produce error-free deliverables and manage timestamps and tags.
  • Identify and flag unclear audio segments or content that require clarification from the project team.

Requirements

  • Native or professional proficiency (C1/C2) in Cantonese and strong English proficiency.
  • Prior experience in transcription, translation, or linguistic projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand and differentiate regional dialects, emotions, and contextual cues in audio recordings.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to deliver error-free transcriptions.
  • Familiarity with transcription tools/software and experience working with timestamps and tagging.
  • Availability to commit a minimum of 10–15 hours per week, up to 20 hours based on availability.
  • Freelance/independent contractor work arrangement and ability to work remotely (United States).
  • Willingness to meet project deadlines and follow project-specific guidelines and formatting requirements.
  • Comfort with projects that may use AI tools during parts of the hiring or workflow process (as support to human review).

Benefits

  • Pay rate of $30 per hour.
  • Flexible, remote work schedule with a minimum commitment of 10–15 hours per week and up to 20 hours based on availability.
