Description

  • Translate patent-related content from Korean into English while preserving the original meaning and readability.
  • Proofread and review patent translations as needed for quality and consistency.
  • Follow client instructions regarding translation process and CAT tool usage.
  • Use the XTM CAT tool for assigned projects.
  • Communicate effectively in English and respond promptly to project needs.
  • Handle patent content across areas including chemistry, biology, computer science, electricity, and mechanics.
  • Maintain style adequacy to meet client expectations.
  • Perform copy editing and MTPE when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience translating and reviewing content in patent fields.
  • Native fluency in the target language, English.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to translate, copy edit, and perform MTPE.
  • Immediate availability for patent translation projects.
  • Experience with patent content in fields such as electricity, computer science, mechanics, or medical devices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAT tools, specifically XTM, is preferred.
  • Freelance availability for approximately 2,500-5,000 words per week.
  • Remote work capability from eligible locations including South Korea, China, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, or Seoul.
  • Ability to work across technical subject matter including chemistry and biology is preferred.
