Description

  • Translate patent documents from English into Korean with accuracy and consistency.
  • Proofread and edit patent translations, with an emphasis on mechanical and chemical patent content.
  • Work on remote freelance patent translation projects with immediate availability.
  • Deliver translations in K-Editor compatible formats, including HLT, HLZ, and FIN.
  • Use CAT tools such as Trados and XTM to complete assigned work.
  • Maintain quick response times and good availability for ongoing project assignments.
  • Complete an English-to-Korean patent translation test as part of the selection process.
  • Collaborate as part of Welocalize's external linguist pool and support global production teams.

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in Korean.
  • Strong experience translating and proofreading patents.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience translating and/or editing patent documents, especially mechanical and/or chemical patents.
  • Proficiency with CAT tools, especially Trados and XTM.
  • Ability to provide work in K-Editor compatible formats, including HLT, HLZ, and FIN.
  • Immediate availability for patent translation projects.
  • Good availability and quick response times.
  • Experience with patents in chemistry, biology, computer science, electricity, or mechanics is preferred.
  • Competitive rates are preferred.
  • Freelance employment eligibility.
  • Willingness to complete a translation test for selection.
