Description

  • Translate patent-related content from English into Dutch while preserving the original meaning and readability for the target audience.
  • Copy-edit and review patent translations to ensure style adequacy and clarity for the client.
  • Work on patent content across technical domains including biology, chemistry, computer science, electricity, mechanics, and pharmacy.
  • Deliver translation work on an ongoing freelance basis according to weekly project needs and personal availability.
  • Collaborate with the project team on remote, independent-contract assignments.
  • Use CAT tools, including XTM and Trados, for translation and copy-editing tasks.

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in Dutch.
  • At least 2 years of experience translating and reviewing content in patent fields.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Experience using CAT tools such as Trados and/or XTM.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
  • Immediate availability for a patent translation project.
  • Ability to translate patent-related content accurately while maintaining style adequacy and readability.
  • Freelance/independent contractor availability for remote work.
  • Experience with technical subject matter such as biology, chemistry, computer science, electricity, mechanics, or pharmacy is relevant.
