Description

  • Proofread and edit localized content in the native language to catch grammar, typo, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, spacing, and consistency errors.
  • Sometimes translate content from English into the native language.
  • Check user interfaces for functional issues.
  • Write and report bugs and errors using internal and client-specific tracking tools.
  • Follow testing instructions and test cases accurately when QA-ing products.
  • Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
  • Research and resolve linguistic questions as a subject matter expert for the target language.
  • Adhere to project-specific quality standards, style guides, trademarks, checklists, and glossaries.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate testing issues effectively.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with high quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in the required language, both spoken and written.
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
  • 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience.
  • Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in the target language.
  • Experience with MS applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate networks and websites using different browsers.
  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware, including desktop and laptop systems.
  • Basic knowledge of smartphones, including iPhone or Android devices, and familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with native culture and trends.
  • Avid social media user with familiarity with the Facebook Family of Apps.
  • Experience with consumer devices used for messaging, health, fitness, calendar, or organization.
  • Strong company and industry awareness, process development ability, problem-solving skills, excellent time management, and ownership of deliverables.
  • Localization, QA, or translation experience, or advanced computer skills, are preferred.
