Description

Translate patent-related content from English into French while preserving the original meaning and ensuring readability for the target audience.
Proofread and review patent translations, with a focus on chemistry and biology content.
Follow client instructions, including translation workflows and CAT tool usage.
Communicate effectively in English and respond promptly to project requests.
Perform copy editing, MTPE, QC, and LQA tasks as needed.
Maintain style adequacy to meet client expectations.
Work on freelance remote projects with an expected weekly volume of 2,000 to 5,000 words.

Requirements

Native-level fluency in French.
At least 2 years of experience translating and reviewing content in patent fields.
Experience with patent translation, especially in chemistry and biology.
Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
Ability to translate, copy edit, perform MTPE, QC, and LQA.
Immediate availability for patent translation projects.
Ability to work remotely as a freelance translator.
Strong English communication skills.
Experience using CAT tools, specifically XTM, is preferred.
