Description

Review and assess the current EU Battery Regulation compliance plan for completeness and regulatory alignment.
Identify gaps, ambiguities, unknowns, and implementation risks in the existing compliance plan.
Define producer obligations across different supply chain and reseller scenarios.
Review and advise on labeling strategies for motors, finished products, label placement, and battery date coding.
Advise on EPR obligations, including producer registration, annual reporting, and recycling program implementation.
Validate implementation readiness and confirm the organization has an actionable compliance roadmap ahead of upcoming deadlines.
Provide practical recommendations aligned with the company’s business model and operational realities.

Requirements

Direct, hands-on experience implementing or advising on EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 compliance.
Experience supporting manufacturers selling battery-related products into the European market.
Strong understanding of producer responsibility obligations.
Strong understanding of battery labeling and traceability requirements.
Strong understanding of EPR frameworks and recycling obligations.
Strong understanding of reporting and registration requirements.
Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational implementation plans.
Experience working cross-functionally with legal, operations, supply chain, product, and compliance teams.
Experience with manufacturers or product compliance in Europe is required.
Consulting engagement availability of 5–10 hours per week for 6 months, based in Europe.
