Description

  • Assess the current application architecture and identify performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability issues.
  • Design a target-state architecture that supports growth beyond 580 active users and future expansion past 1,000 users.
  • Define application, data, integration, and security architecture patterns aligned with healthcare best practices.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of FHIR-based integrations with EHR/EMR systems.
  • Design scalable healthcare data exchange mechanisms using HL7 FHIR APIs.
  • Evaluate bottlenecks across the Angular UI, .NET APIs, SQL Server database, integration services, and infrastructure components.
  • Define performance tuning strategies for API response times, database queries, search, reporting, and concurrency.
  • Create performance benchmarks, capacity planning models, and growth forecasts.
  • Define modernization roadmaps for legacy components and recommend cloud-native or microservices approaches where appropriate.
  • Introduce observability, monitoring, logging, and telemetry frameworks, and conduct architecture governance reviews.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect.
  • Experience architecting large-scale healthcare platforms.
  • Experience scaling enterprise applications supporting hundreds to thousands of concurrent users.
  • Angular 10+ experience, preferably Angular 15+.
  • Experience with Angular Material, state management frameworks, performance optimization techniques, UI scalability, and accessibility.
  • Experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, REST API architecture, microservices, event-driven architecture, and background processing frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, query optimization, indexing strategies, database partitioning, data modeling, and high-availability architectures.
  • Experience with HL7 FHIR, SMART on FHIR, healthcare interoperability patterns, healthcare data governance, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Experience with Azure is preferred, including Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus/Event Grid, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Ability to evaluate system limitations, identify root causes of performance degradation, and define scaling strategies.
  • Experience with population health management platforms, clinical workflow applications, payer/provider ecosystems, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Domain-Driven Design, Well-Architected Reviews, or Microsoft/Azure architecture frameworks is preferred.
