Description

  • Build full-stack applications, including backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and modern web front ends used by business teams across the firm.
  • Integrate third-party systems such as Geneva, market data vendors, CRM platforms, and administrative platforms, and develop tested adapters and reconciliation logic.
  • Migrate legacy .NET/C# applications and SSRS reports to modern, scalable, cloud-deployed architectures with responsive user experiences.
  • Own data quality end to end, including ingestion, normalization, validation, lineage, governance, and controls for firmwide positions.
  • Build reporting and BI solutions, including Tableau dashboards, internal web tooling, investor reporting, and ad hoc support for portfolio composition and DDQ requests.
  • Translate business needs into engineering requirements by gathering input from PMs, analysts, risk, investor relations, and operations.
  • Document functional and technical specifications, write UAT plans, and lead testing efforts.
  • Ship and support production software by writing tests, managing source control, using CI/CD, and monitoring deployed applications.
  • Collaborate directly with the CIO and Business Technology leadership on modernization initiatives and platform improvements.
  • Use AI coding assistants as part of the daily development workflow to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another quantitative or hard-science discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production ownership of business-critical web applications.
  • Experience at a technology firm; experience in capital markets, hedge funds, asset management, investment banking, or a financial technology vendor is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success delivering full-stack applications end to end, from requirements through production deployment and ongoing support.
  • Extensive experience with Python or .NET and C#.
  • Comfort with REST APIs, asynchronous services, and integration patterns.
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS experience, with modern frameworks such as React and jQuery.
  • Strong proficiency with responsive web design.
  • Strong SQL skills, including window functions, query tuning, and set-based thinking.
  • Experience with relational databases; exposure to NoSQL or document stores is a plus.
  • Experience with Git or TFS, CI/CD, TFSDevOps, Confluence, and unit and integration testing.
  • Experience deploying and operating services on Azure or AWS is a plus.
  • Tableau dashboard development experience; SSRS experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with fixed-income securities, bank loans, and credit instruments is required or strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and across multiple workstreams under deadline pressure.
