Description

  • Post and manage content across Newsweek’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, WhatsApp, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
  • Create and schedule four posts per hour while working closely with editorial teams to ensure timely and accurate content.
  • Monitor comments and trends, and respond appropriately to foster audience and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with editors to amplify breaking news and trending stories during weekend hours.
  • Track the performance of weekend content and share insights with the social media team.
  • Support weekend social referrals and monetization through carefully crafted content that engages Newsweek’s readership.
  • Ensure all posts reflect Newsweek’s voice, editorial standards, and visual identity.
  • Communicate with editorial and digital teams to align social strategy with newsroom priorities.

Requirements

  • Prior experience managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or organization.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and make quick editorial judgments.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Must be U.S.-based, even though the position is remote.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced digital environment (preferred).
