Description

  • Provide technical support, system administration, and maintenance for the Energy Management System (EMS) and related applications.
  • Support EMS upgrade systems through multiple testing cycles.
  • Integrate EMS applications and perform routine monitoring and maintenance.
  • Conduct structured and unstructured testing and record defects in the defect tracking tool.
  • Partner with business leads, project managers, technical leads, vendors, and development teams to reproduce defects and validate fixes.
  • Coordinate and support installation of defect fixes and releases across testing environments.
  • Perform database updates and upgrades in EMS environments.
  • Support acceptance testing for new and enhanced applications with Operations Engineering, Market Operations, and other business units.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation to support EMS administration and use.
  • Perform code builds, patch implementations, migrations, emergency recovery, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Respond to system failures and operator questions on a 24/7 basis and help resolve issues with market participants.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of system administration experience on Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Experience working with RDBMS platforms such as Oracle or SQL databases.
  • Preferred experience administering GE EMS Suite or other EMS vendor platforms such as Hitachi, ABB, Siemens, OSI, or GE PowerOn Reliance.
  • Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Inter Control-Center Communication Protocol (ICCP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
