Description

  • Develop custom FPGA IP for new Kepler satellite digital-payload features.
  • Design and implement FPGA code for SDR signal modulation/demodulation or embedded interfaces with processors and peripherals.
  • Improve the reliability of existing DSP and interface designs.
  • Participate in the full FPGA development flow, including simulation, synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and hardware testing.
  • Integrate new functionality into Kepler designs with IP core vendors.
  • Collaborate with lead engineers on communications and network architecture for the future satellite constellation.
  • Contribute to conceptual design studies for new spacecraft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of FPGA/RTL design experience.
  • Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL, with willingness to learn or transition to SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGAs, particularly Zynq and UltraScale.
  • Strong understanding of timing principles, including clock-domain crossing and timing closure.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Tcl, csh/bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience with FPGA tools such as Vivado or Quartus and HDL simulation tools such as ModelSim.
  • Master’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience with coherent digital demodulation, including BPSK, QPSK, or QAM (preferred).
  • Experience with interfaces, high-speed transceivers, Xilinx Versal/RFSoC, PCB design, or RF electronics design (preferred).
