Description

  • Identify the appropriate computational biology package for each task and design problems that depend on its core capabilities.
  • Develop full Python solutions, including required input files, model definitions, and network configurations.
  • Define the correct numerical outputs and set tolerance levels appropriate to the biological context.
  • Run problems against the AI model across multiple parallel attempts and analyze where it succeeds or fails.
  • Adjust problem difficulty until the model pass rate falls between 10% and 30%.
  • Iteratively tune channel kinetics, stimulation protocols, and solver tolerances.
  • Work with senior reviewers in your subfield and refine tasks based on feedback before final submission.

Requirements

  • Academic background in Biology or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in biology research, applied work, or teaching.
  • Strong Python skills for writing and validating computational solutions.
  • Ability to build problems that require specialized computational biology software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as NEURON, Brian2, NEST, OpenSim, AMICI, libroadrunner, MNE-Python, or Biopython, or the ability to learn them independently.
  • Prior exposure to how frontier AI models handle complex simulation tasks.
  • Knowledge across multiple biology domains such as computational neuroscience, biomechanics, or systems biology.
  • Familiarity with containerized or sandboxed Linux execution environments.
