Description

  • Support the implementation of the BCI communications strategy.
  • Help raise BCI’s profile among audiences inside and outside the climate change policy community.
  • Conceptualize video content for public relations, social media, websites, and newsletters.
  • Create motion graphics and animation videos based on scripts and discussions with responsible officers.
  • Illustrate sketches for review and approval.
  • Produce engaging, on-brand audiovisual content such as video explainers and interview features.
  • Support BCI internal and external events, including major industry events such as COP29.
  • Work collaboratively with the Communications Manager - Digital Creation and the Communications Manager - Social Media & Content.

Requirements

  • This is an unpaid volunteering role.
  • Home-based location in Glasgow.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience in video creation and editing.
  • A strong portfolio with examples of motion, animation, and video work is required.
  • Proven relevant experience in an organization.
  • Experience working in a target-driven role.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams, using initiative to drive projects forward.
  • Strong creativity and storytelling ability.
  • Good understanding of communication channels such as media outlets and social media.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Animate, Photoshop, and Toon Boom.
  • Good experience with motion graphics and animations using After Effects plugins such as Trapcode Suite, Plexus, GeoLayers, and Element 3D.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, G Suite, and communication tools such as Slack.
  • Understanding of social media management tools.
  • Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, and Premiere Pro is a bonus.
