Description

  • Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and connect it to business-impacting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to evaluate technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Drive technical solutions and operational processes that improve team effectiveness and execution.
  • Own team operations and service availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting.
  • Establish code review and design standards that promote quality and ownership within and beyond the team.
  • Mentor and develop engineers through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
  • Build polished, performant, and accessible user experiences that impact conversion, retention, and business growth.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience developing web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React, React Native, or Vue.
  • Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating existing functionality through a technical and execution plan.
  • Ability to write high-quality code that is easy for others to understand and use.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and moving between low-level implementation details and large-scale architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and iterate on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
