Description

  • Design, build, and operate RESTful APIs for enrichment, search, feeds, and customer workflows.
  • Develop scalable backend services, workers, task queues, waterfall lookups, and data pipelines.
  • Own Elasticsearch/ECK infrastructure, including index design, ingestion, relevance tuning, cluster health, scaling, and migrations.
  • Design and operate ETL applications moving large data volumes into search stores, Snowflake, S3, and warehouse exports.
  • Own AWS infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, security scanning, and deployment modernization.
  • Build metering, credit-logging, billing, data-quality, monitoring, and evaluation systems.
  • Optimize PostgreSQL performance and improve latency, uptime, error rates, fill rates, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Contribute to the React/TypeScript application, documentation, onboarding, and self-serve customer surfaces.
  • Write tests, review code, document architecture and API contracts, and participate in on-call and incident response.
  • Participate in product planning and help prioritize features with the greatest customer impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building and operating production backend systems and APIs, with demonstrated strategic technical problem-solving.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Django REST Framework.
  • Hands-on experience operating Elasticsearch or OpenSearch at scale, including mappings, relevance tuning, cluster management, and migrations.
  • Experience building and operating reliable ETL pipelines handling significant data volumes.
  • Production experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and asynchronous task systems such as Celery or RabbitMQ.
  • Core-owner-level experience with AWS, including ECS, S3, and CloudWatch; infrastructure-as-code; and CI/CD such as GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with observability, on-call responsibilities, and production incident response.
  • Working proficiency in React and TypeScript.
  • Strong written communication and ownership of technical documentation.
  • Daily hands-on use of AI coding tools and demonstrable experience designing, orchestrating, and debugging agentic workflows; familiarity with MCP is valuable.
  • Experience with Snowflake, B2B data products, privacy/compliance engineering, web crawling, large-scale ingestion, open source, or public technical writing is preferred.
