Description

  • Build backend and platform solutions for the Collections team’s repayment and delinquency workflows.
  • Help maximize recovery by supporting messaging and recovery strategies for delinquent users.
  • Collaborate with product managers, backbook risk teams, and other engineering teams on collections initiatives.
  • Work on team projects and goals with the support of the broader team.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Balance speed and quality to meet business goals while protecting systems from downtime.
  • Contribute to team growth and development activities.
  • Develop and launch robust collections solutions that support high availability and reliability.
  • Monitor and help detect system problems to maintain engineering system health.

Requirements

  • Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Experience using Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to turn a business problem into a solution spanning multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging other engineers' code, and giving code review feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and willingness to seek feedback.
  • Experience in collaborative work with global engineering teams (preferred).
