Description

  • Evaluate machine-translated song lyrics from English (US) to Japanese (Japan) for meaning, fluency, and naturalness.
  • Provide quality ratings based on predefined evaluation criteria.
  • Identify issues such as mistranslations, awkward phrasing, idiomatic errors, and cultural inaccuracies.
  • Maintain consistent, objective judgment and accuracy across large volumes of content.
  • Follow the review-only scope (do not rewrite or edit translations) and record feedback accordingly.
  • Submit evaluations and ratings through the project’s evaluation platform or tools.
  • Contribute feedback that directly supports improvement of automated translation systems and model training.

Requirements

  • Native-level or near-native proficiency in both English (US) and Japanese (Japan).
  • Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, idiomatic expressions, and cultural context in both languages.
  • Ability to focus on detail and maintain concentration and accuracy over large volumes of content.
  • Availability for a flexible freelance schedule averaging about 4 hours per day and able to start ASAP.
  • Eligible to work remotely from Japan, the US, or China and able to pass identity/location/financial verification (fraud-detection) required by the project.
  • Previous experience in translation, localization, or linguistic quality evaluation is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with different music genres and lyrical styles is a plus.
  • Experience using online evaluation tools or platforms is a plus.
