Description

  • Deliver one-on-one conversational and assessment-based English lessons to adult Japanese students.
  • Teach 25-minute classes to learners at all proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced.
  • Adapt lessons to each student’s level and needs during live online sessions.
  • Maintain a professional, student-focused teaching presence in a remote classroom setting.
  • Follow an assigned shift schedule and manage 5-minute breaks between consecutive classes.
  • Cover classes for absent teachers when additional classes are available.
  • Send brief encouraging messages after classes as required by the platform.
  • Support returning students by creating a positive teaching experience that encourages repeat bookings.

Requirements

  • 3-year National Diploma as the minimum qualification.
  • Completed, accredited 120-hour TEFL certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 year of ESL teaching experience.
  • Ability to teach English across all CEFR levels, from absolute beginner to advanced.
  • Completion of a demo lesson as part of the application process.
  • Strong communication, patience, and empathy with learners at all levels.
  • Positive attitude, professional presence, and comfort teaching online.
  • Strong time management, organisational skills, and responsiveness to schedule changes.
  • A reliable computer with at least a 2GHz processor, 4 CPU, and 8GB RAM.
  • Fibre internet with LAN cable and minimum 20 Mbps upload/download speed.
  • Backup power for load shedding or power outages.
  • Webcam, noise-cancelling headset, and a quiet, private, well-lit teaching space with a neutral background.
