Description

  • Monitor real-time transactions and customer behavior flagged for fraud or abuse for manual review.
  • Investigate individual transactions using internal policies and review methodologies to determine whether they are fraudulent.
  • Analyze account patterns and system data to support fraud investigations.
  • Research fraud and user behavior to help improve machine learning models, rules, and detection systems.
  • Collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineers to strengthen fraud prevention processes and tools.
  • Maintain strong domain knowledge of fraud prevention techniques and technologies.
  • Meet or exceed SLAs for timely resolution of queued cases to minimize potential losses.
  • Handle escalations from internal and external stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Review suspicious activity escalated by Customer Support and clear false-positive flags from automated systems and support agents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience investigating and resolving fraud incidents.
  • Experience analyzing data and making decisions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong business judgment and communication skills.
  • Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision after training.
  • Ability to work through holidays.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions is preferred.
  • Degree in statistics, math, finance, economics, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred; graduate degree is a plus.
  • Experience with database query languages such as SQL and data processing/analytics tools such as Python, R, or SAS is preferred.
  • Ability to start within two weeks of receiving an offer is preferred.
  • Only English resumes will be accepted.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Central Time.
  • This is a non-exempt/hourly contractor position.
