Description

  • Own guest outreach, booking, and timelines for senior executives, government leaders, and other high-profile speakers.
  • Identify appropriate contacts and navigate executive offices, communications teams, and other channels to secure commitments.
  • Manage outreach pipelines, follow-ups, and booking updates across multiple executive relationships.
  • Represent Semafor’s editorial mission, event audience, and value proposition to prospective guests.
  • Lead pre-event editorial calls with executive teams and prepare detailed programming notes for moderators.
  • Research prospective guests, their companies, industries, and areas of expertise.
  • Assess the relevance of prospective guests and recommend compelling programming opportunities.
  • Develop event conversations that connect guest expertise to Semafor’s broader editorial agenda.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in broadcast journalism, executive communications, event content, programming development, or a related field.
  • Experience managing complex editorial programs involving dozens of speakers and sessions.
  • Ability to engage confidently and professionally with senior-level executives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including writing executive invitations and briefs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for managing multiple relationship streams.
  • Knowledge of major business and economic trends and their relevance to executive-facing events.
  • Strong editorial and strategic judgment in evaluating potential guests and programming.
  • Resourcefulness in researching unfamiliar companies, industries, and leaders.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours; Washington, DC, or New York, NY location preferred.
