Description

  • Extract, cleanse, and load data for healthcare-related workflows.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using SQL, Kafka, and related technologies.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in data and data pipeline processes.
  • Document new data sets and implement new data transformation configurations or ad hoc reports.
  • Triage incoming bugs and incidents and help prioritize resolution work.
  • Participate in sprint refinement, planning, and kickoff sessions to estimate work and define implementation details.
  • Monitor data pipeline execution and performance and address issues collaboratively.
  • Perform data quality checks to maintain consistent and accurate data.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Strong understanding of modern relational and non-relational data models and their differences.
  • Expert-level SQL skills, including pivots, window functions, and complex date calculations.
  • Experience analyzing and parsing flat file data structures.
  • Proficiency with EDI X12 formats related to healthcare claims processing.
  • Familiarity with Excel and analytical tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, and PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with API usage for healthcare data integration, including data parsing and conversion.
  • Knowledge of EFT file movement principles and encryption tools.
  • Ability to translate data movement and transformation concepts across tech stacks.
  • Strong communication skills for working with internal colleagues, external data partners, and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to review data and code for quality and accuracy.
  • ETL experience preferred.
  • Git experience preferred.
  • Software certification or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
