Description

  • Develop and improve new and existing flight control laws and associated assessment tools using MATLAB and C++.
  • Support the development of control laws, autopilot, and navigation systems for R&D projects.
  • Develop flight control laws and system requirements for new and updated designs.
  • Perform requirements validation and verification for flight control laws updates and new control laws designs.
  • Verify and deliver flight control laws in accordance with DO-178B and SAE ARP4754 standards.
  • Design pilot-in-the-loop control laws based on handling qualities, envelope protection, performance, test pilot, and aircraft-level requirements.
  • Evaluate flight control law and fly-by-wire system failures, stability, and performance using analytical methods, simulations, simulator tests, and flight test data.
  • Support integration of control laws into test rigs and supplier hardware across multiple platforms and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience developing flight control laws for fly-by-wire aircraft.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft flight dynamics, aerodynamics, stability, handling qualities, and pilot-in-the-loop control.
  • Experience with classical and modern control system design for SISO and MIMO systems, including advanced control law techniques.
  • Experience with control law evaluation methods, including linear and nonlinear testing procedures.
  • Good understanding of DO-178B, system requirements verification and validation, and certification of complex software.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink for simulation, modeling, and control law development.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB scripting and C++ programming.
  • Understanding of state estimation or Kalman filtering is preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
  • Team-oriented, innovative, motivated, and able to work independently.
