Description

  • Develop and improve new and existing flight control laws and the associated assessment tools using MATLAB and C++.
  • Support the design and development of flight control laws, autopilot, and navigation systems for R&D projects.
  • Develop flight control laws and system requirements for aircraft programs.
  • Perform requirements validation and verification for flight control law updates and new designs.
  • Verify and deliver flight control laws in compliance with DO-178B and SAE ARP4754.
  • Design pilot-in-the-loop control laws based on handling qualities, envelope protection, performance, test pilot feedback, and aircraft-level requirements.
  • Evaluate flight control law and fly-by-wire system failures, stability, and performance using analytical methods, desktop simulations, simulator tests, and flight test data.
  • Support integration of flight control laws into test rigs and supplier hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers such as Collins, Thales, NRC, and CMC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience developing flight control laws for fly-by-wire aircraft.
  • Strong expertise in aircraft flight dynamics, aerodynamics, and handling qualities.
  • Experience with classical and modern control system design for SISO and MIMO systems.
  • Good understanding of control law evaluation techniques, including linear and non-linear testing methods.
  • Good understanding of aircraft stability, pilot-in-the-loop control, and handling qualities.
  • Knowledge of DO-178B standards, system requirements verification and validation, and certification of complex software.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for simulation, aircraft/system modeling, and control law development.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB scripting and C++ programming.
  • Understanding of state estimation or Kalman filtering.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
  • Team-oriented, innovative, motivated, and able to work independently.
