Description

  • Provide technical assistance, coaching, and mentorship to INSP and other national surveillance teams.
  • Identify data-sharing, governance, and utilization bottlenecks and help stakeholders resolve them.
  • Develop and improve epidemiological reports, bulletins, situation reports, dashboards, and risk information products.
  • Analyze 7-1-7 timelines to identify delays and generate insights for public health decisions and rapid response funding.
  • Strengthen data analysis, visualization, statistical modeling, geospatial mapping, and automated reporting capabilities.
  • Support data architecture, processing pipelines, governance strategies, and national surveillance guidelines.
  • Design and deliver training, workshops, and hands-on sessions for national, provincial, and health-zone teams.
  • Facilitate collaboration, data-sharing agreements, technical working groups, and multisectoral preparedness initiatives.
  • Translate surveillance data into actionable insights aligned with One Health approaches.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in public health data analytics, disease surveillance, or decision science, preferably with a public health or government agency.
  • Experience building capacity through training, coaching, and mentorship of public health professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of public health informatics, data management, surveillance, and emergency management.
  • Advanced R skills, including data preparation, descriptive statistics, visualization, and geospatial mapping.
  • Intermediate proficiency in R Shiny and Quarto or Markdown for interactive applications and automated reports.
  • Understanding of programming principles for reproducible data pipelines and information products.
  • Knowledge of International Health Regulations (IHR 2005), Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR), and One Health approaches.
  • Experience engaging government agencies, development partners, and global health organizations, with strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • English proficiency is a strong asset; ability to work independently and collaboratively is required.
